Pack Whistle

Emergency kit, go-bag & preparedness planners

About

About Pack Whistle

Pack Whistle is a small set of free planners for households getting ready for storms, floods, power cuts, wildfires and evacuations: an emergency kit list builder, water and food calculators, a go-bag packer, a household emergency plan and a winter car kit list.

Where the figures come from

Every quantity and checklist line comes from official guidance, and each line on a result names whose guidance it is: Ready.gov (FEMA) and the CDC in the US, the UK Government’s Be Ready campaign, the Met Office and the Highway Code, Get Prepared Canada, Australian state emergency services and the Australian Red Cross, and the European Union. Each page lists its sources with the date the page showed when we checked it, 5 November 2026. Where official sources give no figure, such as a calorie target for emergency food or the weight of a torch, we say so, or label our own figure as a typical one. Guidance changes, so follow your own country’s current advice.

How it works

The planners run in your browser. What you type is worked out on your device and never sent to us or anyone else. The kit builder, the go-bag packer and the household plan can keep your entries in this browser’s local storage so you can come back to them; the privacy page lists exactly what is kept and how to delete it. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type into the tools.

What it is not

Pack Whistle is general information, not medical, veterinary or legal advice, and it is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number: 911 in the US and Canada, 999 in the UK (999 or 112 from a mobile), 000 in Australia, 112 in the EU and 111 in New Zealand. Ask a pharmacist or doctor about medicines, and a vet about pets.
